Who is SAFI

We are the business entity of the South African National Defence Force.

Mandate

The South African Forces Institute (SAFI) was established in terms of Section 148 of the Defence Act, 1957 (Act No. 44 of 1957), (Section 82 (1) (o) of the Defence Act, Act 42 of 2002, as amended). The mandate of SAFI is to be a trading institution for the exclusive use or benefit of the SANDF, Military Veterans, the families of such members and other prescribed persons or classes of persons.
